In addition to being a Psychic Medium, I’ve studied mystical and meditative modalities for over 20 years. I love using that knowledge—along with practical techniques I’ve developed as a writer and teacher—to help others jumpstart their creativity and connect more deeply to their own wisdom. In writing my bestselling novel, What Is Visible, based on the life of the blind-deaf 19th-century phenom, Laura Bridgman, I only recently realized that I had actually channeled Laura’s voice.
My stories and essays have been published in The Atlantic, The New York Times, Best New American Voices, The Iowa Review, The Chicago Tribune, The Los Angeles Review of Books, and Glamour, among others.
I’ve taught Creative Writing at Boston University, Florida State, and in the MFA Program at the University of Hong Kong.
